The Respol Honda Team has been a force in MotoGP racing since 1995. Most recently, team member Marc Márquez made headlines in the sport by not only winning ten races in a row, but he was also the youngest rider to ever reach such an accomplishment. With the backing of Honda engineers, the team is expected to be at the forefront of race technology. Thanks to the new RC213V, they are well ahead of the curve.
The new RC213V was first unveiled to the public in Indonesia and will be used by the team at the 2016 MotoGP World Championship. Although Indonesia does not currently have any major MotoGP events scheduled, the region is extremely enthusiastic about the sport and is expected to have one soon. Showing their passion, local fans suffered through rain to see the unveiling.
You don’t need to be a world-class rider to get a taste of what it’s like to experience the RC213V . . . though it will cost you a good chunk of money. Honda has released the RC213V-S, a version of the real deal for the general public. The catch? It will cost you $184,000 to own one. It may be a hefty price tag, but it is a model of engineering and called “the best-handling sport bike in the world” by Cycle World. Plus, it’s legal to ride on the streets, unlike the professional racing model used by the Respol Team!
